Disappointed as I have been this last year with the in car speakers (front door only) that my Fabia Combi came with, I ventured out to look for some replacements (and expansion for the rear) this evening, only to be told by the guy at the shop that according to his database tool (from Sony) that the Skoda Fabia Combi only allows a speaker with a depth of approx 22mm and the majority of speakers that you would buy in the shops are considerably deeper than that.

Before I pull off my door to measure, is this really the case? I see lots of posts for people changing their speakers, so I can't imagine it is that difficult to find something decent that fits.

Incidentally, I was interested in the Infinity Kappa 52.5i model.

That is correct, only a few speakers will actually fit.

Is the combi different to other models in terms of the speakers fitted as standard? If not, just buy plastic or better still make MDF spacer rings to fit speakers up to 65mm deep.

What you fit will depend very much on budget... how much are you looking to spend?

thanks for the guide. The door looks different to mine. I think I am going have to look into it before I move on.

Regarding price range....nothing decided as of yet. Any info would be great.
