Featured Replies

got to say before i ever thought of buying a skoda, you always have that group of people saying SKODA i would never have one of them. but then about 5 years ago a sat my arse in a fabia vrs remapped to around 170bhp and loved it, i just new from then i had to get one. then i finally did, totally standard which i thought was good cause i could do my own touches. then i had a lad at work said you bought a skoda my audi a3 1.6 petrol will kill that which put the biggest smile on my face when he come up behind me and i just left him for dead lets just says lads maybe another skoda convert if not i think he should be lol.

a very happy skoda lover. luke....

That's how I feel about mine too, I sold my last one, had several cars and a big bike in between but, nothing came close to the overall ownership experience at all. You've got plenty of poke if you want it and excellent economy when you want or need it.

The amount of people that have had a big surprise when noising me up some what and I just floor it and leave them for dead (and in a cloud of smoke before I got it cleaned out ), it's great fun. At the other end of the scale I have managed 58 MPG without trying to hard and having a little fun, so a great wee car.

Problem now is, what do you get next?

Even the newest ones are almost six years old now (Tdi model) and short of buying the newest one you can find and then restoring it completely, what will give the same fun factor and a reasonable cost?

It's my firm belief that Skoda ****** up big time by not giving the option of a diesel MkII vRS :(

The VRS is good but I would never struggle to think of another car I would rather have!

I used to think that way too but, honestly nothing else I can think of fits the bill so well.

Gulp! I'm ...I'm getting old! NNnoooo....

I would need to spend 30 times what the Fabia's worth to get the next car I really would like, (GTR).

Better than the FR you have now?

You've had some crap cars then? ;)

Very similar.

Although i think the fabia has a bit more character. Around town the fabia is much more punchy. Actually feels quicker as the turbo spools up quicker, but in reality it isnt but give you that grin factor

No had a lot of good un's

Just my fabia was a special beast

Brembo's

Kw coils

And running over 200 ponies!

Had the grin factor for sure

Only ever had a pair of stock VRS's so I can only assume that a well set up one would be a fair weapon!

It could basically blow any hot hatch to bits (older focus st's / type r's / older astra vxr's / golf gti's, even had an r32) maybe not the new one's that are breaking the 300bhp barrier now though

Don't tempt me jase LOL i think I'd only do it if the turbo blew.
