Best DVD head unit for Superb II; don't need GPS

Featured Replies

Hullo; first post here; seems like this is THE place on the internet for Skoda questions!

I am looking to upgrade the head unit on my Superb II (2012 model). I live in India currently where only the Swing and Bolero are available, and my model came with the Swing.

I'm looking primarily for DVD / MP4 video playback (preferably not region encoded), and best compatibility with things like the steering wheel controls and parking sensor/air-conditioning display. I am not really too worried about navigation as I have a driver and he knows where he is going!

The Skoda/VW options like the Columbus are overkill/useless as there're no maps available for India and I don't care anyway.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Hi and welcome. If you want all the sensors and air con information to still be displayed then you don't have much choice other than to get the Columbus.

There is of course the Kenwood DNX521DAB that also displays the 'extra' info but again, that also has navigation.

Surely there are plenty of cheap Chinese boxes that will be okay?

I didn't think the Kenwood did display the information, or spoke to Maxidot?

TBH I'm not too sure about integrating with maxidot but it definitely does display the extra bits.
