dab radio problem - battery related?

Featured Replies

hello all

I have a JVC KD-DB42 Dab unit with a Kinetic DEGA-4001 aerial and it’s been working great since last July, but the battery had to be disconnected at the garage due to the dreaded water ingress and since then, no DAB. Everything else in the unit works fine (usb, AM/FM, cd etc). Now when this happened before i just had to reset the unti and search for the stations but not this time.

As soon as i follow the instructions i.e. select DAB then press the <<>> button to start the search, the screen goes blank. I don’t even get the “No Signal” just a blank screen.

i've done the reset option, disconnecting it, leaving it disconnected etc. and i got to wondering if there's something that should have been done when the battery was disconnected - not sure what but i'm grasping at straws now!!

I can’t see how it's the aerial as it would still have No Signal. Really stumped – Halfords were no help. I took in the unit to see if they could connect it up to see if it is the unit but they don’t have DAB capabilities!! they can only demo the other features of the units!!

any guidance or advice would be most appreciated – i really want my 6music back!!
