Hose not attached to anything

Featured Replies

While checking oil the other I noticed this hose wasn't attached to anything, I hadn't noticed it before so it could have been there for months (or longer).

Here is where the hose comes from...

The car seems to drive fine, no warning lights or apparent ill effects. Does anyone know what it is? Should it be attached? Where to?

I'm baffled, both to how it became dislodged (if it ever was) and why there are no outward signs of problems.

Any info much appreciated. Thanks.

It attaches to a tube on your airbox ;)

upper left rear of airbox as you face it. You should see a black pipe; it slides on there.

Thanks mate, couldn't see the wood for the trees

I must have dislodged it last time I changed the air filter...what does it do?

No idea TBH, but I'm guessing it has something to do with calibrating the air/ fuel ratios prior to injection. That's only a guess mind.
