I've searched extensively for a solution to this but can't find one.

The bootlid on my Fabia is really loose and there is movement in it when driving. Basically, if I lean on the closed bootlid it moves inwards and then when I lean off it it moves back outwards again.

It definitely isn't normal and you can hear it moving whilst driving.

The previous owner did a respray on the whole car so I'm thinking he might have taken off the bootlid to do this (possibly) and then not put it on again correctly.

Does it definitely loock shut? Any boot open light? Any play in the bolts attaching it to the body at all?

Yep it locks shut as normal, no lights etc and when i open it with the button on the keyfob it functions as normal. Doesn't seem to be any play in the bolts.

OK next question, when the boot's up, can you see a black rubber door stop at each end? About the size of the top of your thumb.

Could be in that case that the boot is misaligned somewhere at the hinges ot the catch for the lock is possibly loose, after that I'm stumped!
