Does Octavia Classic ccm/ecu comes with radio receiver?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I am researching on how to upgrade my central locking sytem in my Octavia Classic to remote central lock with an original flick key. Does anyone know whether the convenience module in the classic trim comes with radio receiver? So I can only use vcds and a new remote key to use for my car or do I have to change the ccm with a remote receiver? I also need to know where the ccm is in my car so I can check with part number or anyone check with just my reg? Sorry for a lot of questions and appreciate any help however little in this regard.

Mehdi

if you have vcds, look at address 46

the part number will be there

Thanks for your replies, Mike and Eddie.

Mike, am I right in thinking that my present CCM will not support a remote then? Can you please tell me then what CCM I need to get and how to code it with VCDS? What else can I do with the maximum version of CCM? On a different note, how can I open the glove box unit?

I see from your signature that you have done quite a bit of retrofitting :))) Mind me asking how much they each cost you and how to do get them done as I intend do some work done on my car but being a newbie is proving to be quite a challenge for me. By the way, I do not have VCDS so will have to get a kind Briskodian with VCDS in Newcastle to help me in that regard.

Sincere apologies once again for millions of questions. As you probably may have guessed that I'm very novice in this matter but I assure you that I'm a keen learner.

Mehdi

I've done lots of retrofitting too

find out what you have first, as you may not need to buy a new ccm

post up the part number of yours

can I jump in on this too as I am looking to do the same

It would be nice to have the orginal key as the remote but I was looking to go down the ebay route with a basic remote alarm fob.

it looks easy compaired to a genuine fit but tell me different

what sort of cost are we looking at for a genuine upgrade? rough cost.

Hello MC

Glad to know that somebody is in the same boat as me. I have looked into both the options and found the genuine option is better for several reasons.

1. Unless you can do soldering, cutting wires and good with electrics it's better left to professionals.

2. It does not count as a modification as long as it was a factory fitted option, but it can be argued otherwise as well.

3. The original fob is of better build then the aftermarket ones and lasts longer.

4. There can several things that can go wrong even after you have done it, like doors not locking correcly or total closure not working properly as so forth. Though it can be troubleshooted.

Now the cost is a grey area. The aftermarket fobs cost about £35 but then you have cut the key blade and have the transponder transferred, which is quite a pain as many people who tried it ended up having it broken.

The genuine fobs cost varies but I've seen for around £40 in bay auction site. I'm stuck with finding my ccm number and can't proceed without vcds as couldn't find it after opening the glove box unit. Can anyone help? Please???

I've found the CCM

Part No: 1K0 959 433 BJ

Is it possible to programme a remote, if so what is the part number of the remote?

Many thanks in advance.

the glovebox has to be dropped, it is on the left at the top

Thanks for your reply Eddie, but I've already got the part number.

Can you please tell me whether I can programme a remote to my existing CCM?

Regards

your best bet is to try it

remotes are cheap on ebay

buy a 1K0 959 753G

and try it

if you have vag com

check to see if the ccm is locked for remotes by checking adaption channel 19

use channel 00 to clear or reset

use channel 01 to add remotes

Thanks Eddie.

May I ask how do to find which remote goes with which ccm?

I've thought to do the same thing myself before but just got confused as to which one to try.

just had a look on the parts program, looks like it might not support remotes

Buy the remote and try it first

if it doesn't allow remote adaptions, buy a 1K0 959 433AK or 1K0 959 433AR or CB if you want it to display in the Maxidot

Would any ccm work on my car or is there a list of compatible ones?

Would any ccm work on my car or is there a list of compatible ones?

you need one for a 5dr

you also need one with remote function

so buy 1K0 959 433T or 1K0 959 433AK (these will be the cheapest, so don't spend more than £30)

or the highend versions listed above

What is the part number of the corresponding remote that I need to buy?

Would one remote fit all or do we have specific remotes to work with only specific ccm? In that case, could you please tell me which remote works with which ccm?

Thanks.

I've checked adaptation in channel 1 and 2 but they are not available so I guess my CCM does not support a remote.

Thanks Eddie, you've been a great help mate.

Can you guide me with which remotes work with which CCM models?

use the part number above

any 434Mhz should work ok

I coded a mk4 Golf remote to a mk5 golf with no problems and so it opened and locked both cars
