Vrs coilovers back to oem suspension?

Featured Replies

Hi guys had my coilovers for a while now and am starting to wonder whether i should go back to the oem setup.

Things like speedbumps and the fact my coilovers are knocking are making me thing this haha :D i have a lot of speed bumps near my house :S

Anyway has anyone gone from coilovers to the oem suspension?

I dont run ultra low, probably 59cm off the ground at the front and 60ish at the back.

I have JOM's and have changed the drop links to shorter ones, new top mounts and bearings.

I have also taken the shocks apart and cover them in loctite and tightened them up again.

I do have an issue with the spring hitting itself at the top of the coil where it sits in the top mount.

Any suggestions as to what could cause the knock. Its not all the time but enough to make me think about changing back!

Any help would be good :D

cheers!

I went back to standard suspension with Eibach springs a little while back from JOMS, it is nice having a comfortable ride again but i do miss the look of the lowered car, i am planning to go back to coilovers again soon, though this time spending a bit more money for better ones, possibly AP or pushing for Weitecs

Have you tried just adjusting the suspension back up a little so speed bumps are a bit easier to go over? i had a weird knocking sound with the JOMS too, they are budget for a reason and have heard they do have issues with knocking, i put it down to having to have a shorter set of drop links and it making the ARB twist slightly when your not mega low, dont thnk any other coilovers need shorter drop links but dont quote me on that
