Just bought a fabia sport interior for my elegance just 2 jobs i want to do

1. Change centre rear belt to black to match the rest from my elegance seats

2. Fit the heating elements etc into the front seats from my elegance seats

I really dont mind having my seats stripped apart. But i have no idea or confidence to do it. Dont want to wreck the sport seats tbh

Anyone clued up on doing something like this?

Is the rear centre belt a lap belt or a proper one? I presume a proper one, in which case I think you will find that the mechanism is riveted to the seat back, though it is at least four years since I pulled a back seat apart.

also the front seats will need lots of fiddly clips removing to change the heating elements over and the clips will need replacing.

Both jobs should be relatively easy.

I swapped my Golf backs with a 3pt belt over to a lap belt middle Fabia back so i haven't done the exact job but as trudle says the whole belt mechanism is bolted to the metal back rest. under the foam.

All you'll need to do is pop the material and foam off of both sets of seats, unbolt the belts from both, swap them over, and put the material and foam back on.

The fronts is much the same, neither of mine had anything to do with heating so again i can't promise it'll be easy but if you deconstruct the elegance seats you will then have a guide of how the sports should go back together.

you'll need to take all the plastic trim off the seat bases, then remove the back rest from the base (2 bolts either side) you can then unclip the material from the base and remove, take the heating elements out, put it back in the sports base (after deconsructing those in the same way) and then reverse the process to put everything back together

have a go lol the centre 3 point seat belt is pretty easyish i had mine off when it jammed .... and dont seem to remember it being hard just unclip cover pull cover and foam off then theres a single m10 (17mm) nut and the belt comes off.... im sure you would be able to manage it plenty on here that can help / advise and im only down road if u wanted a hand

well they'll be off in this weekend. They're currently sat in the boot. although i cant seem to move one of the belts :/ which could cause concern. if its the pre-tensioner or something, can these be reset?

the centre belt needs to be at a certain position to work maybe the others are the same? i think its a fail safe should you roll the car sort of thing ....

i think youll find i was the first to fit golf seats to a fabia lol not pastyboy :giggle:

and seat leons and audi a3's aswell
