vRS towbar

Featured Replies

Hi all

Am toying with getting hold of an 03 vRS again, but would need to get a towbar fitted to move my loch boat about now and then. Do any of the members have any experience with these? Can you get hidden ones or do you have to cut the spoiler? Maybe there are long neck ones available?

Any help appreciated please :)

You can get hidden ones, look on ebay a golf mk4, seat Leon and toledo based on the mk4 chassis fits as well. I think only the bottom part of the bumper needs cutting, not sure how noticeable it is. With a fixed one which I fitted the very bottom underneath needed cutting and isn't noticeable when I unbolt the bit that holds the towball

I dropped quiet lucky i got one second hand and it had only been used twice as lad fitted it to his SDi and then realised his caravan was too big for car so ended up buying a bigger car instead and took bar back off,

Think i paid 70 quid for it

i sold mine to a lad up that why best tow bar ive seen for the skoda and very easy to fit

That's unusual. I've got a Witter fitted to my Estate, and there is nothing cut from my bumper at all.

Like the look of that Westfalia one. Anyone got a good price for 1 new?

Sorry to go off topic but has anyone got experience with towing on Coilovers? I didn't think it would make much difference on a single axle trailer until somebody mentioned it and got me thinking. It's about 35mm lower than standard.

I've had a trailer with a ton of gravel in it on back of mine with coilovers, along as its loaded level then you will be ok,

I don't think the vrs tows as well as my volvos did but think it might be more to do with volvos been heavier than vrs
