I was driving around my city and suddenlly the EPC indicator turned on! What was happened???? In my hand book is written that the EPC indicator turns on when there is a problem with the traction control  When I sstarted the engine again the EPC indicator turns off - I think that everything is OK now, but why it turned on yesterday?

I think that the Fuel has bad quality and this was the problem! In spite of I fill up only the best 98!

I was driving my girlfriends old Ibiza and approaching a roundabout the EPC light came on (this seemed to be a reoccurring fault and she had had sensors replaced etc etc. before) but this time the whole car died, no engine, no brakes, no power steering, nothing. If I hadn't have been slowing down for a set of trafic lights on the roundabout the handbrake would have been the only thing stopping me from rolling into a busy roundabout in rush-hour traffic. They quoted

EPC warning light can come on for a number of reasons.

One of the common ones was the brake light switch.

Check make sure you have brake lights now and the next time it comes on.

But needs to be checked out mate.

Agreed it will be a brake light switch, you will need a modded purple one.

OK I will go to my dealer than! Thanks guys

I have had the EPC light come on. It stands for Electronic Power Conservation. It only came on when I completely flattened the battery (oooops, knew I shouldn't have taken that mini fridge!!).

Jump started the car off a leisure battery and the car was unresponsive, no throttle,

nothing. Let it idle for a bit to get some charge into the battery and then turned it off and on again. It was then fine, but with the light still on (in limp home mode). Let it idle for another 20 mins and stopped, when I go in to go home, all was well, never had a problem since.

Clever little car.....
