can beadblasting do more damage than good to cleaning alloys up?

Featured Replies

can i beadblast my alloys to clean them up ready for paint rather than sanding?

U will still have to sand them after blasting if u r painting them.. if powdercoating u just blast them.. clean them + powder coat them.

If the wheels have been powdercoated already + u want to get it off for painting.. u will save alot of time by blasting them but if there just painted then i wouldnt bother..

Hope that helps :)

I had mine blasted the powder coated. I hit a curb last week due to some little **** in a focus coming around a bend a bit quick and startled me.

I'm going to get it re-done will leave it to soak in thinners and then blast it as that will make the paint much softer.
