TPM,ABS,traction control lights keep comeing on

Featured Replies

as above really 07 octavia VRS Tfsi and when driveing the 3 lights keep comeing on.

Orange/yellow or red. If they are yellow it's only a warning that there is a fault and its safe to keep driving, if they are red you don't want to be driving it.

I had the 3 yellow lights on my 57 plate vrs and it came down to a faulty wheel bearing and abs sensor. Techs said it was possible there was some crud up in sensor so I left it alone. A few days later the lights never appeared again and my wheel bearings are fine, no rumble or problems spinning the wheel up on jacks.

I have a 56 plate VRS and the three lights came up orange, usually the car would start up without them on but then within 30 seconds the ABS light could come on almost immediately followed by the TPM and and TCS lights. In my case it was the ABS ring on one of the rear wheels which had corroded, the mechanic replaced the hub (the ABS ring isn't a separate part) and that's resolved it, from what I've read here and going by the mechanic it's not unusual for this age of car. This is what VCDS showed:

2 Faults Found

00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46)

008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent

00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46)

003 - Mechanical Failure - Intermittent

Yeah its the 3 yellow lights. I am getting it looked at tomorrow so hopefully it won't be a expensive fix. Cheers lads

Yep the car does a test on startup so no lights as soon as engine is started.

I would suggest taking the wheels off and having a look around the hubs, I know you don't know which one it is but something might be obvious, maybe give the abs rings a wire brush and some brake cleaner on the sensors

Another thing, your probably looking at about £ 250 to put right if you take it to Skoda

I've got the same plus the Teves G201 error to deal with. You'll probably need a new hub just as JohnMcL7 says. Normal cause of the fault is a rusty sensor ring in the hub expanding and damaging the sensor. If you just fit a new sensor the rusty ring will wreck the new one.

Nothing worse than a rusty ring.

i had that on the day i bought my Blackline. dodgy bearing/hub/ring/sensor combo and the fault only showed up when going fast enough (50+) for the dodgy sensor's "speed reading" to be markedly different to the others.

Fixed same day and under warranty.

Hi - Initial problem was an indicated failure of almost all systems including immobiliser. Mobile breakdown cleared error codes leaving only the TCS warning. Eventually found an independent VW group garage in Plymouth called Phil Davies South West who fixed problem by re-entering initial settings on 5 remaining error codes - for a very reasonable charge.
