Hi all im looking to upgrade my standard cat to a sports cat so i can go stage 2 ,now i have been offered a 100 cel sports cat is this any better than the standard one fitted ? what cel is the standard one and are 200 cel ones any better just want to buy the right one first time thanks rob

I think stock cats are around 400 cel so a 100 cel gives much less restriction. My 1.8t passed the co2 level at mot time with a 100cel but only just, 200 cel would be a safe bet.

The 100 cell cats give very little restriction but it is a struggle to pass the MOT. To be honest, the 200 cell cats can struggle too. The key thing is to get them as hot as you an before the emission test is done, half an hour or so of spirited driving can work wonders.
