How many nets in a Net Program ?

Featured Replies

Took delivery of a new Yeti SE 1.2TSI this week. Have a couple of queries:

I ordered the "Space saver spare wheel (16") with jack, false boot floor and net program". The Yeti came with wheel etc. and TWO NETS, one small side, and one shallow net across rear of boot.

I was expecting more than two nets, certainly one that could be used to cover whole boot area. Can someone in authority tell me what Skoda should supply in a "net program" for this model?

Also, there is no front ashtray supplied with my Yeti. Should there be? (goes in cupholder between front seats).

Mine does not have an astray.....but there is a big window on your right which comes in handy !

Mine came with two nets as standard, much the same as you describe. I have obtained a parcel shelf net, which I find the most use full. No ashtray.

No ashtray, no lighter, nowadays. Definitely nothing to support non-PC habits :x

Our SE+ came with four nets. One side net, one under the boot cover, one stretched between the rear seats one one still in its bag because we can't figure out where it goes!

As I understand it, if you have the spare wheel you only get 2 nets; 1 x side, 1 x cross net, since the raised floor covers the hooks for the floor net.

No ash tray fitted, as common with most cars nowadays. There is one in the Accessory Catalogue that fits inside the between seat cup holders.

I believe you only get this, together with the "Lighter", when you order the vehicle with a "Smokers Pack", though it maybe available as a dealer supplied accessory.

This seems to be common policy across many manufacturers..........Tony

My spare wheel equipped Yeti only came with 2 nets as well. No ash tray as I didn't order the smokers pack......

Sent using whatever device I'm using at the time.

Mine only had two nets and no ashtray, and "Gunk" can for punctures. Full size spare bought, lost a bit of space, no problem to my needs, and another thing that should be standard.

How do you store your spare wheel?

Flat, on the RH side, with a lock down strap to stop it joining me in the front should the worst ever happen. Oh, and it's 225/50 R17, but I'm not bothered by by the space it takes up, peace of mind being more important.

No ashtray! Some of you might remember when cars were never optioned with an ashtry, however I do remember one of my uncles buying an egg cup shaped bakalite ashtry that with the aid of an attached rubber sucker could be attached to a window or wherever for the depositing of ones cigarette ash. Boy oh boy was that posh! There was no radio fitted into the dash either. How times have changed.

Hmmm - looks like I have all the netting that I'm going to get! Might consider buying the 'under parcel shelf' net though.

As I am a non smoker, I had earmarked the ashtray for coins etc. Now I shall carry on using the humble 35mm film canister!

(remember those?)

Thanks to all for your comments

Oh yes, stick-on bakalite ashtrys, those were the days. Of course the best arrangment for dealing with smoking by-products was the opening quarter light. With the ciggy between the fingers of the hand clutching the steering wheel at the required "ten past" position (RH drive of course), the slip stream would automatically extract smoke and ash. Luxury.

I have the spare wheel option; 2 nets AND the cup thingy that is supposed to be an ashtray - I'm using it for my roof bar key and my removeabe tow bar key :-)

Perhaps specification a la Francais are different to us the wrong side of La Manche?
