Tuning a vRS - parts and suppliers?

Featured Replies

Hello all, I've been toying with the idea of upgrading parts on my vRS for a long time, but never got round to it. One of the main problems being "where to start?"

When I had my old Corsa GSi, there were literally hundreds (if not thousands) of options available - the car was like Lego and you could easily snap bits on and off. However, I'm struggling with the Octy.

Can anyone recommend parts and suppliers? Which mods are best to go for? Turbo? Exhaust? Intercooler? etc...

I intend to get it chipped at some point, but would rather do that after making the above setup changes.

The only change I've made since buying the car has been to install a Pipercross induction kit (closed). The rest is completely standard.

I'm mainly looking at performance mods (but I wouldn't say no to recommendations for bodywork, etc).

Many thanks! ;)

Hi where abouts are you in Kent ? My Mk1 octy VRS has a few mods. You are more than welcome to pop round for a cuppa and go for a spin.

There's loads of stuff to do, some of the little mods are the best! (Search - cheap mods - there's a good thread somewhere)

The best simple thing for performance is a stage 1 map, then (or before) a good cat back exhaust, someone was selling a blueflame for £200 the other week might still be in the for sale section.

My favourite mods are my milltek exhaust, carbon wrapped grill, black carpet, boost gauge, actually the list will be huge but the little things are some of the best :)

Check out other people's build threads too for some top ideas
