Whilst servicing my wifes Octavia GLXi Estate (2L 8v AEG engine) this weekend, I noticed that although it has a cable driven throttle, the throttle body has a motor assembly on the side of it exactly like this. Is there any way of retrofitting cruise control to this car?

You need the throttle housing from a CC vehicle. Pretty hard to come by second hand and about £400 new here in the UK iirc.

Techie, not sure if the AGN 1.8 non turbo engine is different to the 2l one, but my old toledo had a cable throttle, but had cruise as well. Could you use the throttle body from one of them and retrofit the stalk and harness?

You can have cruise control and a cable throttle, but the throttle body itself is different to non cruise one.
