A big thank you to all of you

Who offered help and advice regarding my recent upgrade from a. bolero to a Columbus. Thanks to you it is now installed and working.

For the benefit of anyone thinking of doing the same it's a 2012 elegance originally with Bolero and blue tooth phone prep installed at factory. I purchased a used unit which was installed and which was fully functional from installation other than the maxidot display or whatever it's called. Careful pulling out the white aerial plug at rear of unit as it brings the white plastic cover from the unit with it.

New code to fire it all up and unit worked perfectly. All speakers ok and microphone still working.

To get the maxidot to work a visit to DAVE in Cardiff this evening and following advice on the forum

No 37

19 can gateway ticked on installation list .

However although navigation was appearing on the maxidot, it would not save the change.

However persistence w on over. Closer examination in the following section revealed that it was showing that no sound system was installed even though the Columbus was working perfectly. Changing the below to skoda sound system allowed the the display in the maxidot to retain the setting and all works fine.

No 37 navigation coding 07.

Long coding helper bit 0-7

Was showing 00 sound system not installed

Changed to 02 skoda sound system can display

Hope all this makes sense. Anyway thanks again to thes of you who offered advice and guidance(you know who you are) and especially to DAVE in Cardiff.

Enjoy your wine and have a good trip up north next week.
