Rear beam bushes

Featured Replies

Got a bog standard 1.9TDi and a lot of banging from the back over bumps - I think the bushes need replacing. The question is this - should I replace with OEM parts or the Superpro bushes?

I 've read up on the Superpro's and they are allegedly much easier to fit - presumably because each bush comes in 2 halfs. Any advice appreciated.

I'd go with the superpro, seen the fitting guides for the oe one and it looks a right pita

Double check that it's not your exhaust, the rubbers deteriorate over time.

I've got a set of superpro bushes to fit on mine but just haven't gotten round to it yet, but I'm not 100% sure that it is the bushes on mine as my exhaust has dropped a bit. One of those noises you can't quite trace lol

also bumpstops.... they have failed twice on my car in 210k miles. This causes the top of the rear shock covers to drop and make a noise on bumps.

I fitted fabia vrs rear beam bushed to mine, still a more effort than any of the split alternatives though as they are a single unit. Still with a bit of waxoil and a home made tool they soon slid in.

Thanks guys. Had a cambelt change today and the mechanic independently verfified the rear beam bushes have gone. Superpro bushes it is - looks relatively easy from the link so i'll give it a go this weekend,

The standard ones are easy! If you they are hard you should try steel sleeved ones with the beam still on the car ala Ford pumas.

They are as they are voided and have some give. Lot easier then the LCR ones
