Engine occasionaly won't idle momentarily on hot start

My 2001 8v MPI seems to always start fine but occasionally when hot doesn't want to idle well. Rev's sort of drop down and it occasionally dies. As long as it's kept running it's fine and soon idles ok, but something ain't quite right. I feel it's probably flooding a little bit.

I'm taking car to be looked at on Thursday (Oil leak from sump area main reason getting checked out) and garage man was threatening about throttle bodies regarding this. However I see from reading here coolant temp sensors can play up. Anyone had these symptoms from it?
