Im guessing then same goes for hubs n wishbones

Think so. I've been thinking about the wishbones too. Need to find a wrecked one here :)

Chatted with pete is there anything else

Quick rack

TT/R32 cast wishbone

TT/R32 hubs

TT/R32 abs sensors

TT/R32 front wheel bearings

TT/R32 ball joints

Vrs banjo ( whatever it is )

TT/R32 wishbone bushes

What rack bush ?

Anything else ?

Or just bolts then

Any different pump or anything ?

Will vrs brakes n calipers still go on ?

With standard pump it's a bit heavier but I like it that way.

LCR stuff works too.

1J0 411 305 AF (FRONT 23MM ARB) I think that's the R32 one

I have all the P/N for all the stuff buddy if you need it when I did mine.

There is a lot of odd P/N for the steering rack as i found when trying to determine which cars have the 2.5 turn quick rack.

the LCR / TT 225 / S3 and R32 all have the quick rack (but will have various P/N on them as Audi tends to be 8N*******, Seat tends to be 1M******, VW tends to be 1J******* etc)

Also even the TT 180 has had a quick rack

All the cast wishbones and hub are the same across these cars so don't matter what you get.

But if you get Hubs from a R32 you will have to press out the flanges to fit your VRS or 2WD flanges on as the R32 has different flanges to support the different FWD drive shafts.

Get a powerflex or superpro steering bush, all the same across the VAG group for these chassis

keep VRS pump as gives a little heavier steering which in my mind is needed.

Also to get best out of this set up, fit wishbone castor adjustment bushes

I would recommend building all this up on a spare subframe and fit new Subframe LCR /TT/S3/R32 bushes. That way you can remove old and fit complete new....Job done

Pete will know all this, but if you need any help buddy shout. The job is not difficult really....

Absolutely buddy......That is one of the main reasons to also fit the TT/LCR/S3 Hubs as they have longer brackets to ball joint/wishbones

Cast Wishbones with castor adjuster bushes

fitted wishbones

You can see the near horizontal wishbone (and my car is very low)

You can also see the much longer distance the lower ball joint is located on the bottom of the TT hub( the TT HUB is a must as well to get best out of the conversion)

Hmmm.... I think this is going to be a long on going project

Combined with my ocd needs of wanting new bits and red bits

And getting bushes done other places

So.... I am going to go for it but run it as a secondary project

Ive managed to build a huge 4 digit list

And thats before my break down list of bolts n lil bits from billy

Unless theres any sponsors or generous folks :D

Hehe

it soon adds up matey......

But if you are going to do it worth doing it right.........

Im going to run it as a secondary project

Just collect up buts randomly as and when can get them

Rather than skinting myself out and more :(

I defo want it

Just a case of my old enemy....... Patience :(

How noticeable is changing bits over? Got a work colleague that has a 225 quattro tt that works nights, if I swap my rack and stuff with his would he notice straight away? And can it be done in 8 hours? lol

Sent from my Galaxy S3, not a Crapple!

You going to notice straight away ;)

The car will need a thorough geometry workout once fitted, a simple tracking will not be enough

Damn wouldn't be able to do the tracking, would of been done at the works car park using a trolley jack and axle stands plus his steering lock would be on. There goes that idea out of the window lol
