Yeti Seats

Featured Replies

Gave the Yeti (SE Plus) a good clean inside today seen as it hadn't been done for ages. During the cleaning a vacuuming of the (cloth) seats I noticed significant and irritating bobbling of the material - not in the perhaps expected wear and tear areas but around all the seams!

Also noticed the carpet type material either side of the rear jumbo box vents ended up getting longer and woolier the more I vacuumed it! Guess the quality is the same as the new carpet mats - naff! Anyone else notice this? Car is only 18 months old.

Well my experience is that that all Skoda fabric upholstery has at least some sort of tendency to bobble - I still prefer it to the 'leather' though!

Surprised to hear about it on the SE+ though, as its raison d'etre is to be the family model & the toughest of all the fabric options.

I'd suggest buying the cheapest of the (e.g. JML type) fuzz removers you can find & giving it a once over every 3-4 months.

Office seats have for years had the material moulded to the foam for this very reason - so you don't get the material stretching and "bobbling". (The material is laid in the mould of the foam bases and then the foam is poured in and left to cure). VAG have only recently started using this same process on the CityGo/Up!/Mii seats I believe. Peculiar it took them so long to use a process the office seating guys have used for years. So bobbling is alas par of the course due to how the seats have been made.

Alas the Yeti upholstery is of low quality. My Yeti is 18 months old and very early on I noticed thinning and fraying.

Got a set of leather seat covers from Superskoda and Im happy ever since.
