Footwell Lights

Featured Replies

Ok, I'm thinking of putting footwell lights into my furby for when interior light is on..... all i need to know is: where does the cabling run to and from the interior ceiling light because i need to tap into the "door open, light on" cable

I've got footwell lights in my car, but I got it done at a specialists place. It will have to pass from the fusebox thru the rear of the footwells. I can't find the thread with the pics so I'm hoping someone does for you.

Thanks.... just wondering.... do the cables for standard interior light perhaps run behind one of the A-pillers... and if so, how do i get it off?

i think you two may be talking about different lights

mil, are you talking about the lights you added a litle while ago that illuminate the actual footwell??

i think our friend here is talking about the lights at the bottom of the door that come on when you open it :)

Ohhhhhhhhh.........he he...:o

No no.... im am talking about fitting actual footwell lights which come on when interior light is on/door open.

But i did question door ones in another post week bak!

d'oh!! sorry, carry on then :o

I'm interested in doing this too

i'm thinking of doing that to on the Superbs its "cat Vision" or is it not?

I'm considering making a bar of white LED's to fit under the dash on each side, that way the light will be more evenly distributed than using just one interior light fitting.

Another thing to consider is rear foot well illumination, especially in the Octy where the rear interior light doesnt come on with the front one

Also considered replacing the boot light with a row of LED's under the parcel shelf.

Now, where did I put that Burberry hat ?

Is this mood lighting for when you're out dogging? ;)

It's probably fallen into one of the dark footwells... :D

Woof woof...taka taka..

I'm just a bit wary about it looking like an isle at the local cinema ;)

No idea on the wiring but I'm sure it'll be simple enough.

Not sure if it's still the case, but on other cars I've come across, there used to be a push switch on the door frame between the hinges which would control the interior light. Not sure if it's the same these days, or where they use some electronic trickery on the hinge...might be a starting place, on the same circuit and close to the footwells?

Rob.

the Furby's dont have no switchy thing on the doors
