Halfords scratch repair

Featured Replies

I'd rather deal with a smaller company like Chips Away (and I have) as each one is essentially a franchise and their reputation stands on their own ability to make the business work for them.

No glamourous shop front of national chain name to hide behind.

I admit that the quality if Chips Away is not 'spray shop' standard, but then neither are their prices. Ask locally to see if anyone can recommend your local Chips Away 'guy' before driving to Halfords.

Used chipsaway years ago on my saxo. Guy did a great job, asked if I was happy before he left and gave me his card should any problems arise.

My experience of Chips Away was positive as well.

Had the car for three years after the repairs and you still couldn't see it was done.

Anyone got a recommendation for the St Albans area?

I used Chips Away when I lived in Bedford about 9 years ago. Total carp. Could've done the same job myself with a bottle of nail varnish. Couldn't have been more disappointed.

I've used them twice..very good indeed...looks like you had a 'black sheep'

Quoted me £300 to fix my scratches, spray and blend two panels, plus polish out some lighter scratches and deal with some stone chips, now I just need to deside if it is worth it or just live with the scratches.
