Maf sensor and over estimation of mpg?

Featured Replies

I put a pd160 air intake on today and took it off cos it did nothing, but now my mpg readings on the trip computer have got ridiculous my average mpg on way to works gone up 15-20 and the live mileage reading always seems to be reading over 100mpg which is daft as it was fairly accurate before , I think I knocked the maf sensor when pulling the 160 pipe out its plugged in not loose but feeling it may be that, I don't feel performance has been lost although feels slightly different just can't put my finger on it.

Going to keep my eye on consumption to see weather it's improved or not improved as I measure tank to tank and work it out as computers normally quite out anyway but not this far.

Assuming its the maf as the cause can I take it off and clean it or something without buying another and would it sort out the trip computer ?
