eBay fmic vs turbo revs smic

Featured Replies

As suggested guys !

I've got a turbo revs smic atm running stage 1.5 but I want to push on abit now and I. Ant stretch to a forge or similar fmic and I know some on here have the eBay fmic kits and seem happy with them . I'm curious if its worth the hassle in swapping over to a fmic or will the gain be minimal ?

Anybody ??

Hi, well the fmic will lose some boost pressure as it has to push air harder thereby straining the turbo.

I would leave alone as the extra power will only be lost spinning up the front wheels - 4x4 1.8t anyone?

John

Pete (group1rs) and Gee both run front mounts as well as Adam now too.

Good reduction in intake temps and both are still quick cars.

Pete had a Forge and Gee and Adam have alternative ones they have made fit.

Thanks for the replies guys :)

Regarding the boost drop i've seen kits with 2.5" pipe work and kits with 2.25" pipe work . Would the smaller pipe work limit the boost drop and lag without restricting the airflow or should I look at the 2.5" and start saving for a hybrid ??.

I would get a lsd so you can wheel spin away the extra power.

My vrs came with a front mount, according to torque the intake temps has been really good. Car was sat in the sun one day and the intake temp actually went 2 degrees lower than the outside temp gauge lol

Oh and mine is a eBay toyo sports one

I not worried about spinning the extra power away john as its more for midrange power for round the twists and stuff than dragging against the local corsa crew lol or are they really that bad on a stage 2 ?

Raf is your kit fitted using the original pipework lay out or does it come from the turbo down the battery side then across like the majority of golf set ups I've sent ?
