No change after VCDS enable for DRL on Oct mk2

Featured Replies

First use of my cable, official! recently purchased from ilexia with 11.11.5. Car is Octavia 2012

Plugged in did an autoscan and then onto the first attempted change, enablling the DRL.

More or less followed the video here. Got the coding accepted confirmation afterwards etc:

How-To Activate Daytime Runing Lights - Octavia II 2010 (Facelift)

Didn't switch the bit to DRL off when turn signal is on ( I was keeping it simple and my car didn't exactly match the locations in the video)

Anyway I have suceeded in making no change to the state of the DRL's I can see the bulbs sat there firmly unlighted. I then attempted to turn on the DRL as per the manual instructions ( pull towards and up on the indicator stalk, 3secs ). No response, apart from accidently hitting the horn.

Any ideas?

Do you have maxidot? If so make sure you have them turned on in there.

I've had another check with the VCDS to see the coding status and it displays that the DRL's are active. Is it possible that I need to set the cornering bit set also? I'm going to check there's a physical connection too. I'm fairly miffed at the moment but it's become an obsession so I'll post up when I've got it sorted. meantime I'm open to suggestions.

After a bit more looking around I found:

BYTE16.jpg

from this thread on vw forum http://forums.vwvort...Beginners/page2

I needed to set bit 6 on byte 15 to get the DRLs to actually come on.
