Evening all.

Discovered slight play on the front o/s wheel. I'm sure it is the bearing so has been booked in. Before I take it in -

can the bearing be tightened?

No. If it is the wheel bearing, either the ball bearings or races will be worn.

Not to harp on but ask them to fit a genuine VW supplied bearing if you are keeping the car for a while.

If the bearing is worn, you will hear it, have no doubts about that,

Thanks for replies.

The garage I use fit Padget parts. I willl ask though. They do use TPS if requested.

I'm sure I can hear a low rumbling sound which is why I checked for play.

Going in on monday so I'll update.

Deffo need to use genuine, others are like chewing gum compared

Pagid or Pattern? :D

Udpdate time

Turned out that the near side rear was worn so TPS parts requested. Cost an extra £50 quid so the bill came to £189.00. Would Pagid have been as good?

Lex

I would recommend a new drive shaft nut, re using them can apparantly make them loosen?
