Featured Replies

 :thumbup:hi all i have just read in diesel car mag that in nov 05 there will be a new skoda octavia vrs 2,0 tdi 170hp

Its looking more and more likely that this is the case.

Hmmmmmmmm..........interesting!

that's so lame tho, the "hot" version in the range(s) shouldn't be about laid back, low rpm torque :thumbdwn:

Not a Fabia vRS fan then?

There will be both petrol and diesel versions to suit everyones tastes.

nope, in fact not a fan of the fabia full stop... :thumbdwn:

LIsten to metallica?

Top-tip for those who think the Furby vRS is a HOT hatch - it is NOT, it's a WARM hatch. Skoda never said it was a hot hatch... That's more a Seat Cupra job, IIRC ;)

For the Octy - it makes sense to have both petrol & diesel options, regardless of what opinions are on actually owning a diesel as a hot/warm hatch. I reckon Skoda will do the right thing and allow the customer to choose what's best for them, quite sure both are going to be good, the petrol one will tune up much higher but then that's the 'hot' one :D

i agree, the fabia vRS isn't hot. vRS on a Skoda is like Cupra/CupraR on a Seat or ST/RS on a Ford, it's not my fault they stuck a vRS badge on a decidedly average, ill-proportioned hatchback with a torquey diesel engine under the bonnet but how else can you take it?

 - I reckon it drives well, it's sporty enough. :)
