Discounted RAC Membership

Featured Replies

Not sure if this has been quoted before (apologies if so), but if you need additional breakdown cover, you can get RAC personal cover at significantly reduced cost, as a result of having Skoda Assistance.

I use this for my old Lotus Elan.......

How much cheaper? A one year only deal??

I am with the AA and every year just before renewal check the latest RAC offer and when chatting

to the AA always get the new members RAC figure agreed with the AA.

For membership in the order of £195 (can't remember exact figure) ended up with £101 (RAC £99).

This year for first time they said they can't price match (a bit of an opening try-on?) but when put through to 'Retentions' came within £2 which I was happy with.

Obviously they don't want to reduce premiums but also keeping you has a price they are prepared to pay by reducing your premium.

Would have changed to RAC if not offered a deal as I imagine they are much the same in cover.

If you are preparred to swop ever year seems like you can guarantee a low figure.

AA membership comes with Gold cover which appears to be a bit of a ploy to retain you if you are a

long term member but the benefits are not a major issue (includes key loss cover for example).

Car concerned not a Yeti in case you are wondering why I need cover.

I know there are better deals out there but like the 'glow' of either the 2 big names.

If you shop at Tesco, the reward vouchers get you over 50% discount on every grade of RAC cover. So my Roadside & Recovery costs just £32 (in vouchers) this year instead of £79.99. A pretty good deal!

I'm talking just over £50 for myself/swmbo for personal cover (i.e. not tied to a car) for the full benefit (home/recovery etc.)

Not sure I have seen anything equivalent.......
