Oil Pressyre Warning Light/bleep

Featured Replies

Can someone help with my ongoing problem.

i had my Fabia 1.4 MPI 02 reg serviced last August and when it came back the warning light / beep came on .

The garage took the car back and SAID they changed the oil and filter again but im not so sure.

They were going to then charge me £55 to replace the oil warning sensor but changed their mind and told me ` We dont think thats the problem` and they returned the car back to me with the lights/bleeps still on.

For my sins they charged me £600 + for the service plus 1 new tyre and 2 track bushes.

So much for customer service !!!

They will NEVER get my custom again.

i have been advised to change the sensor which i did and this worked fine for a couple of weeks.

Then the problem returned and still persists to this day. ( 7 months later)

The car has run perfectly since then.

After some research/advice i was told that the old oil had probably been too thick and maybe had blocked the oil pick up pipe.

So today i flushed all the old oil out and replaced it with a quality 5/30 oil and new oil filter at great expense but still the problem persists.

I have just fitted yet another new oil pressure sensor and now the warning light/ beep stays silent on tickover but as soon as i rev over 1500rpm its back on again .

This now hapens everytime i stop and move off ????

I have also cleaned the throttle intake with carb cleaner as it was filthy and gunky.

i am at my wits end now with this problem as the flashing and beeping is driving me insane.

I cant even sell the car with these lights on.

Any ideas what else i can try PLEASE

Lee.

Assuming that the sensors are working as they should, the oil light will come on if the oil pressure is too low. If I were you I would take the car to a decent garage and ask them to check the oil pressure for you - maybe your car needs a new oil pump. It's a bit too late now, but I wouldn't drive a car with the oil light on, and I certainly wouldn't have driven it for seven months hoping it was just a faulty sensor.
