Anyone got a Blueflame Exhaust..

Featured Replies

I purchased a damaged blueflame exhaust, (apparantly) and its all fitted but because of the damage we cant get it to sit right, + the tip is damaged worse than I thought from the pictures, so I want to change it.. (looked at getting a generic back box welded on and im being quoted silly prices from £250 +

so Im hoping someone can confirm this is a blueflame exhaust and then I can look out for a blueflame back box..

pics arent as good as I thought they was when I took them but its dark and wet now so hopefully these will do

or if anyone has a different exhaust and this looks like one of them, would be greatful of knowing...

I had one, there will be a blueflame logo on the tip if that's what it is.

On the top of the end of the tailpipe.

nothing at all on there, but garage said not all blueflames have the identification on them. this one doesn't that's for sure

I had blueflame and there was no markings at all on mine. It looks similar to my old one. Need to see the tail pipe exit to be sure.

sounds hopeful

this is what mine looks like from the back

That is exactly the same exit pipe as my Blueflame which I have had for 5 years

Yep same as my old system. It is slight upswept. Yep is a Blueflame back box.

I damaged my tailpipe and managed to roll it back into shape using wooden hammer handle.

That is the same as my blueflame but I'm sure they changed the systems from being 2 piece from the cat to being 3 piece and the back box went from being a 2 bolt flange to being sleeved.

thanks guys, Member "TERKIN" also sent me this link http://performancevag.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_40_66&products_id=45

so at least I know I can get it replaced for a brand new one, if I cant find a second hand one..

Mines not just damaged on the tip, its damaged on the actual box aswell, was almost touching the rear wheel when it was first put on it was that far bent...

Does anybody know what size gasket I would need for this as when I got it it never came with one, so we filled it with exhaust putty as a temp measure but still has a little blow from the join..

I found this when looking for a back box for the centre pipe and over axle pipe I've got in the for sale section

Looks a little cheaper than the other link, was £170 about 6 months ago, like everything the price rises quickly!

I've the same one as you've fitted with the flanges, the other one I've for sale is sleeved...

cheers mate, good to know, a little cheaper is always better than a little dearer, did it come with the gasket or did you have to purchase it separately ?

Mine (the same as yours) is second hand, I've a gasket from a previous Scooby which fits, just a standard 2.5" oval one if that makes sense, still not got round to fitting it yet!!

Any new backbox from Blueflame will be sleeved so you're likely to have to cut the flange off the mid/over axle section you've got now...

I will get a gasket and see if that will be enough to keep the joint sealed, the flange got damaged aswell,

Thats what I was hoping not to hear, the ones in the links both show flanges, but i will call them up neared the time im ready to buy one (if I havent found 1 second hand) and see what they say
