thinking about a fabia vrs tdi

Hi i currently drive a civic type r and have a few issues with it so i am taking it off road for a while to get it fixed then sell it. I have always the like the vrs tdi but never had a diesel yet and i have had a lot of cars. I have seen a mapped vrs go and they absolutely fly kept up with my civic no problem and thats 230 bhp. How reliable are they with mileage? always get put off by high milage.
