fabia water leaks

Featured Replies

my 2000 fabia leaks water around the bottom of each door, it looks like the door seals are not strong enough.

I also had water comming in from the engine bay which I fixed by clearing out drain holes.

is this a common problem.

Yes

The ancilleries carriers (the big aluminium plate holding the window parts on) need re sealing.

thanks for your help with this problem,

I just proved the problem into that area by pouring water down the door window so that water would run into the space between the door.

I then took the three bottom screws out, and managed to see water seeping out from the the seal at the aluminium plate.

next problem, how can i get the door cards off ?, how is the window winder held on ? ?

I had a similar problem with a mk2 golf i owned - the plastic had come away from the door.

this would appear to be a similar problem, but all doors on my fabia are affected.

i've just managed to get the door card off - window winder has a very strange clip to hold it in - the screww on my golf was far easier
