Hi all, hope all you guys are well and ready for a nice warm summer after the long dark winter we've endured!!

My car developed a gremlin today and wondered if you guys can help.

The dash lights up when i put the lights on but they are a bit dim. The dimmer switch now doesnt alter the brightness and all the other switch illumination seems to have vanished ie no glows around the heater controls or electric window switches! The odd thing is when I turn the ignition off the dash lights go bright! Seems an odd one.

The only possible intervention by me which I will investigate tomorrow is the central locking packed up and I fitted a new battery today but it didnt work immediately so i checked every fuse one by one to make sure I'd not popped one. All seemed in order and the remote now works fine, it just took a while for it to reset properly. It was only tonight that I noticed the lighting thing. Not sure if what i did today caused it or is just a coincidence.

Any clues or advice please as electrics really are not my strong point!

An update. I forgot to mention that recently the main beam indicator light on the dash hasnt been working but suddenly yesterday it started working again!

Now today I've just looked and I appear to have glowing controls again and the dimmer is working but I now have an airbag light which clears for around a second then appears back on again!
