iCloud help

Featured Replies

Going to send my old iPhone 4S to Mazuma as i now have the 5 but they have the same iCloud account. If i delete account on the 4S will it effect the 5 at all? Or if i do a factory reset on the 4S will it effect the 5?

I get iMessages on both phones (even though they send them to my new number) and when i bought it i signed up the 5 to my iCould account and it automatically transferred all my app's/contacts ect over so it basically mirrored my old phone, so when i download a new app it shows on both phones.

I've just changed from a 3GS to the 5.... Just do a full factory reset on your old phone before sending off. I would also manually check the email,iTunes etc have all been deleted just to make sure!

For some reason my apps didn't carry over to my new phone (despite my best efforts) and had manually install them again, couldn't be arsed with a trip to the apple shop :D

I would remove the old sim and destroy it before sending the phone off (if you have a new sim) as some iMessage features were tied to sims rather than phones.

You should also factory reset the old phone and if you really want belt and braces unlock it (costs about £30) as it will be on Apple's database registered to specific network (maybe under your details).

I done the same as jars. Backed up my old phone, restored it to new one then done a full reset on the old one.
