N e way....ive sort of found the answer... ive now uninstalled McAfee Internet security 2004 - and all is sweet! no errors at all! but obviously my pc is open to viruses!

does n e 1 else have same problems? - what shall i do?

get AVG antivirus it's FREE from grisoft.com

and use the firewall in XP

The error on page message in the status bar can indicate a number of things but probably that McAffee was blocking certain messages being returned to the server.

We used to use FS commands embedded in flash files in lessons. When we tested the slides out of the lesson environment we'd get that error on page note appear.

I'm going to take a guess and say the screen shot looked like Tiscali who like to use cookies. You could add tiscali.co.uk to the allowed cookies list to see if that helps.

Open Internet Explorer and allow your homepage to load

Go to the Tools Menu

Select Internet Options

Click on the Privacy tab

Click on the Sites button

Type the domain (EG bbc.co.uk or tiscali.co.uk) into the address box

Click on Allow

Click OK

Click OK

I think some people have suggested AVG as a good free anti-virus solution so you could try that.

Hi

Avast! is also a good free antivirus. I don't suggest it is better than AVG, though there was talk of AVG becoming payware at some stage. I think Avast! might be very slightly heavier on resources, but not worryingly so. It does update itself automatically though, which is a bonus.

I suggest it as a possible alternative because some software sits better on some machines than others depending on what else it will be running with.

Here's a link if you're interested:

If you wanted to pay money, Sophos is well regarded. I guess it's a case of checking out comparative reviews.

I'm a big fan of Avast as well - it's a bit prettier than AVG, and it talks to me as well - which is nice :D

Looks like a scripting error to me. Check that you have scripts enabled and possible check in your firewall settings to see if its set to block certain scripting
