Elephant hose mod

Featured Replies

Here's mine, nice and tidy. End of the 'elephant trunk' has been cable tied to the antiroll bar to keep it in place. Does anyone have this white stuff on their rocker cover? I've tried cleaning it off but it won't budge, it feels the same texture as the rocker cover paint.

Did mine today, cost me £4.95 for a piece of hose from my local motorist discount Centre, a spare jubilee clip I had in the draw, and 25mm blind gromit from work.

Isn't the dirt going to collect on the engine tray?

What diameter hose is best to use?

This is what I bought from autosiliconehoses.com, was a perfect fit:

1 x 19mm ID - Silicone Vacuum Hose 1 Metre - Black (SKU: SVH 019 K)

1 x 20mm ID - Silicone Hose End Caps 2 Pack - Black (SKU: SEC 020 K)

Isn't the dirt going to collect on the engine tray?

No I ran it behind the tray, drips onto the floor

Couldn't you use a catch can or something similar - only concern is a I have new drive way so don't face oil stains lol

Thanks for the sizes and links Rhys. Much appreciated.

Yer people do use catch cans, couldn't be bothered spending money on one and emptying it every 6 months, use the search button to look for catch can mod.

Did mine today by using a wine bottle stopper. Works a wee treat!

Thanks for the sizes and links Rhys. Much appreciated.

You're welcome mate :D
