are golf mk4 window regulators the same as octy ones?

cool stuff. i remeber doing my friends mk4 but that had an unboltable inner skin on the door. the octy ones look like they could be more awkward

Octy ones are really easy, did mine at the weekend and took about half an hour including taking the door card off and putting it back on.

I did mine the other weekend. Really simple to do. Got a new one off the bay delivered for less than £30. Quality isn't main dealer stuff but not that far behind. Too cold most the time to open it so it wont get used much anyways! lol. Felt like a right d*ck every time I had to open the door to pay the toll for the tyne tunnel though! :-s

Fronts may be the same but I think the rears are different? Could be wrong though.

I bought a repair kit off ebay. Took an hour to remove, replace and refit. As good as the OE kit, and £16 posted. Works fine.

well went to fit the mk4 regulator today. very different to an octy one.

of course,they are way different....

G4 window reg comes with the big metal sheet wich octy hasn't
