What is the cheapest you can purchase a proper vagcom cable / dongle for, using USB and with the hardware dongle to not have to bother with licensing junk (I've got too many machines to want to worry about that)?

There appear to be two versions, with and without CAN.

I've got the Furby vRS 2005 model which based on what I've read doesn't currently require CAN - is that correct?

For the Fabia you don't need CAN, but you will for cars in the future so it would be best to go for can to save you changing in the future.
