Adjust rear lights?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to move the rear lights up a few mm, or are they totally fixed?

Mine ever so slightly touches the bumper.

Thanks

There should be an even gap all the way around both clusters, and right along the base of the hatch. If either or both of this isn't true, I'd suspect a distorted rear bumper.

The lights bolt through specific bolt holes so any misalignment will be with other parts of the car. I assume the "shut line" with the rear quarter and bootlid are OK?

It all looks spot on to be fair. But then I dont know what it looked like brand new.

I will take a picture in a bit so you can see if there is something obvious.

It will be the bumper every so slightly out it will be a git to sort that out

Looking at the swedge line across the boot lid the cluster looks right.

As previously, I suspect the bumper is misaligned: If the boot edge to bumper panel gap isn't dead even both sides, that will confirm it.

Not only will it be a bu99er to sort, but it may indicate a bent shell and/or rear bumper crash bar.

You can move the cluster around a bit.. the holes it bolts through are about 1-2mm bigger then the threads coming off the cluster... loosen all 4 nuts and move about, then tighten back off when happy... there's a surprising amount of movement when all 4 nuts are loose.

I changed my originals for facelift, then back to original, then back to face lift, and then, just before it sold, back to original... It is possible to re align them. Looking at your pic I think you'll be able to lift them off the bumper, may require a little rotation to keep the lines complete.
