Mk1 Octavia VRS Hesitation Issues

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I bought a Mk1 VRS a couple of weeks ago which has gradually developed a hesitation problem. Its basically like 2 flat spots, one just after the turbo kicks in and another around 3500RPM. It has a Shark remap and did have a BMC air filter in it however I have just changed it for a Green Cotton.

My first thought was oil from the air filter on the air mass meter however it pulls well apart from this. So second thought was maybe the wastegate.

Has anybody else had this or can you point me in the right direction?

Cheers, Ross.

Coilpacks maybe?

If you're thinking cracked or split vacumn or breather hose, you need to get down and dirty with a physical manual inspection, and take particular note that any fabric "armoured" ones can collapse internally and look normal until squeezed. Also note that you need to get in with the oens down the back of the block.

I Cleaned out my throttle body a few weeks back, seems to have cured all my hesitation issues I had - Its practically free to do so I would try this first tbh
