Pioneer Car Stereo Fitting Problem

Featured Replies

It may sound silly but i am having a problem fitting a Pioneer DEH-X8500BT into my 2006 Skoda Fabia.

It seems the cage that came with the Pioneer stereo cannot fit into the space left by the skoda unit. It's a couple of millimeters too wide! Without the cage the unit goes into the space but just slides in and out so a cage of some sort needs to be fitted.

I have checked on this forum and over the internet but cannot see that anyone else has the same problem. Is it me or do i have to purchase a different cage? I'm at wits end as everything else works fine!

Hi mate, ive got a pioneer too. Bend the cage in the middle (top & bottom) will then fit in the space. Once in place straighten up cage again job done :)

Great, thanks for the response, I will give it a try.

Rubber mallet! They are very tight (good fit) shouldn't come out again too easily tho :)

+1 for pinching top and bottom together
