Is it normal?

Featured Replies

Is it normal to get the engine magement light illuminate after an egr delete on the asz engine?

Have blocked anti shudder and egr vacuum pipes.. should I have?!

Yeah, needs mapping out.

cool just through vcds right?

Needs proper mapping

oh God I didn't realise that or I wouldn't have done it :o

You either live with the engine light knowing it is just the EGR doing it (regular checking on VCDS) or just get it mapped out by someone that knows what they are doing with the EEPROM

hmm bit of a pain! did a bit of research and assumed it was just the BLT that did it

They both do it, but on the BLT its not possible to map it out where as on a ASZ it is. If your planning to map it then get it done at the same time, if not just get a local mapper to do it for a few quid. It'll run fine until then.

Why do people say it cant be mapped out on blt engines? Lots of people have had it done on a blt. There was a post not long back saying shark done theres, kenny130pd I think.

It can be mapd out on a blt mines is and a mate mappd mine

Just to clear some things up

Both throw CEL lights with EGR delete

Both can be mapped out (possibly need a decent mapper as a generic tuning company will be clueless)

Hi mate, do you have vcds? Im not far from you. Need my airbag light reset :/

Think on BLT they have to turn the values down on your map instead of turning off altogether. Not 100% though.

Someone will be able to confirm or deny this.

BLT can be mapped out, so can ASZ, from what ive heard from work, you dont actually need to remap it out. If you know your way around measured values, theres some codes you change yourself, it was on fabia-vrs.com before it shut im sure of it.

Confused because so many people seem to have the EGR delete..does that mean everyone just puts up with the management light!? Surely there must be a way in confusing the car to make it think its still there by putting sprung air valves on the end of the vacuum tubes?

I thought you could just do a egr delete kit on a asz and have no problems but with the blt you got the light and it needed mapping out? That's the way all of the threads make it sound on here anyway

That's exactly what I thought..annoyingly it's not the case and its thrown a light.

Originally ASZ needed mapping out, BLT couldn't. I think its now possible on a BLT but its not done in the same way as the ASZ, possibly leaving some bits plugged in? Not sure. (I run a ASZ).

People don't "put up with it" they just get it mapped out. The majority have the car mapped anyway, those that don't pay a few quid for someone to do it. Its not a big issue.

I'm having a job finding a local mapper to do it..mind you it's the weekend.

I know theres a company near that does it but on their website they quote about £70!

That's not how the posts on here make out, the way they all read is that with a asz you just use a egr delete kit and it doesn't throw a light up

^ thats kind of why I did it! I wouldn't have bothered if I'd needed to map it out totally!

It's abit of a bummer for you but luckily I was going to order one next week so a good job I've read this as I bought mine already mapped and don't know what map is on it so can't nip back to get it tweaked

I'm sure if you hunt around you'll get the £70 down a fair bit.

Yea it's not happening, no tuners will go near it!
