Just fixed the PAS on my '06 Fabia VRS by replacing the pump with a secondhand one I had lying around.

I understand the VRS had less assistance than other models, does anyone know how to programme this (I have the full version of VCDS)?

99% sure its in the 07 coding section of the steering assist module. If you click on coding, usually a pop-up box appears with full VCDS to tell you what each number in the coding does. One of them is a 1 to 5 for the PAS weight / assist.

Anytime I adjusted mine and clicked save it just reverted to the original coding when I opened the pop up box again? I didn't alter the workshop coding or anything maybe I next to?

It was a fully working vcds lite version that I used, would that be the problem, I adjusted lots of other things with no problems.

The chart in the link below shows limitations affecting VCDS Lite. My reading of it is that you should be able to adjust the coding if you were using a registered version.
