pollen filter issue

Featured Replies

i was getting water in from the pollen filter so i removed it took the gasket out and did one with silcone and refitted it dryed the carpet but its still getting damp is there any where else the water can get in or is it some water thats stored at the top of the carpet running down?

You need to make sure the plenum chamber below the battery is not full of water but it can be hard to get to.

Rubber drains can get blocked so best to remove them.

Lots of info on this issue in the forum.

Good luck.

Also make sure the removable drain channel that runs above the filter is fitted correctly and not cracked, otherwise water will pour straight through the filter.

Did you lift the carpet prior to drying it out? there is a huge void under the carpet that fills up with water.

i poured a jug of water under the battery and it run straight under the car so i dont think thats blocked and the carpet i proped up with a bit of wood and used a hair dryer to dry it

the plastic drain above the filter is not cracked and the polen filter is dry but i did notice that theres a clip missing that holds the filter is that needed at all

Not really no, it doesn’t look like it does much.

Is the carpet wetter nearer the doors? Check the bottom of the doors and the sills for signs of water stains. The seal around the metal carrier plate behind the door card fail, and water then flows down the inside of the door and over the door seal to the carpet. Also, check where the bonnet release cable passes through the bulkhead.

cheers
