PAS related issues

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Read around a lot of the topics discussing PAS issues on the fabia's and wonder if i'm heading in the right direction for diagnosis.

Seems to be the PAS sensor, but wondered if the symptoms point to anything else before finding a replacement.

Symptoms:

PAS light on only occasionally.

Steering heavy & little or no assistance at low speeds and parking

Flickering lights - headlights & internal / dash ( stops flicking when car started with PAS fuse removed )

Indicators (turn signals) don't really turn off after going round a corner any more

The indicator and flicking kind of nudge me into thinking it the sensor, but would a faulty sensor really cause the lights ti flicker so much.

Any opinions welcome, and some advice on where to get the sensor from without breaking the bank would be good.

Cheers

Yes - It causes serious voltage fluctuations as excessive voltage is requested by the power steering pump. :) Get it swapped! Best to get an oem replacement either from Skoda or your local TPS branch (trade parts specialist)
