hi im a newby on here just purchased a 08 octavia tdi ambient not happy with the steering wheel as its very tacky. just wondering if a fabia/octavia mk1 vrs steering wheel would fit including the airbag without to much work or even any other type must be a leather sporty type thanks for you time.

I have 09 Ambient Octavia Estate, when I first brought it. I had a Leather steering wheel Skoda part number FBA 600 000 fitted At the time it cost me £120 plus fitting. Had it fitted by inderpendent VW/Skoda garage. Other things I had fitted is Cruise Control plus false floor for the back.

I bought from eBay brand new VRs steering wheel to my Elegance for 100 quid, swop by my own for 10 min. Perfect now

Maybe stating the obvious but what have you used to try to remove the tackiness?

Have you tried a bit of talc if nothing else works?

If the only reason for swapping is the condition of the wheel, I'd clean it.

Some degreaser/all-purpose cleaner in a solution and wipe it down. Then dry and apply some leather conditioner (if the Ambiente spec has a leather wheel?)

Its totally worn tried all sorts.

Just want to know if the mk1 octavia vrs wheel will fit.

I would go for a Mk2 wheel if you can, far less potential issues.
