Replacing Sat Nav Antenna Superb 1

Featured Replies

Hey guys I need to replace the Sat Nav Antenna on my Superb Mk 1. Had a quick look at removing it already but can't see how to remove the base unit cover. Don't know if it slides or needs to be lifted with a screwdriver. If anyone has replaced one could they give any advice. Thanks in advance.

You need to remove the headlining

Ok. Sounds messy already. As far as I can tell its only the actual bee sting that needs replacing but skoda only supply it as a whole unit. It was already proving to be far more expensive a task without the hassle of possibly damaging the roof lining too. Think I'll just look for an aerial off a scrapped car.

Does the beesting bit detach? On mine it unscrews and can be folded flat, but I've never been able to remove it (I've not wanted to pull it extremely hard, mind)

It does detach if you unscrew it fully and then pull it hard enough. I have a small Peugeot aerial fitted in its place. I do not listen to radio in car much anyway (Solisto+8GB USB dongle take care of the music), and it saves me folding the aerial for the car wash.

It does screw out but it's not a standard bee sting. The tip of the threaded bar is like a plug tip. It needs to click into a socket before screwing back into position. The Skoda part number is

1UO 035 507 A. But that's an entire unit including the base and works out about £100. It's basically an amplified bee sting with the same fitting is what I need.
