4x4 uprated rear only anti roll bar?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where i can get an uprated rear antiroll bar for 1.9 tdi 4x4 estate? Everywhere seems to list them as a pair, front and rear, for the 4x4.

I think you may have handling issues if you only do one. I changed both on a Mk 1 Octy 4x4 but did them a few weeks apart & with only one fitted the car was a handful when pushed. Im guessing that may be why you are only seeing them sold in pairs

If you only want one check what fits from other models. On the Mk 1 the R32 ones fitted with a bit of modification to the spare wheel well ( read form a small dent with a lump hammer )

I disagree with the last, maybe yours wasn't setup up correctly, but fitting a stiffer rarb to my vRS totally transformed the handling.

Reduced under steer massively and it felt far more sure footed, even the wife loved it.

Guessing the Mk1 4x4 behaved differently then, once both were on & all the joints polybushed it was a joy to drive & coped with 350+ bhp rather well

If you only fit one, the effect that has on the handling will depend on which end you fit.

Front anti-roll bar increases understeer

Rear anti-roll bar decreases understeer.

<p>Just want the rear to reduce understeer. Can't find just the rear on it's own though. Does anyone know if the golf r32 one definitely fits? And if so, what size are they?

They fit as long as the hammer mod is done lol

Thanks everyone. Do you really have to resort to the hammer to make it fit?

Yup or one member cut out and welded a shaped patch in lol

It did on the Mk1 Octy as I said, not sure on the Mk 2, unless anyones done it the only way is to try one & see. Might be worth looking on E-Bay for a s/hand one or the breakers just make sure its the correct R32 to match & factor in buying the bushes new
